St. Joseph’s Province has bought three and a half acres of land in a village called Kuilam at Chengam, TN and named as St. Xavier’s Nagar. (The village comes under St. John Britto Parish, Chengam in the diocese of Vellore). The poor deserving families in the village will be given 5 cents of land. And the province will also give them partial financial help to construct house at the village. We plan to construct at least 35 houses, a Dispensary, a Community hall and a Chapel in the village. We hope to finish the project within three years. The Village will be named as “Francis Nagar”. We hope to raise the needed funds from our benefactors and well-wishers.
We have a plan to help to construct a house for a poor family under the auspices of each House.
Feeding the People from the Street
In our Ambattur Ashram more than 50-60 people from street are being served supper every day.
In Bangalore Ashram, more than 150 poor people are served lunch on every Friday. And in both places a small prayer service is also conducted for them.
